Artificial Intelligence is increasingly transforming the way we work, make decisions and experience everyday life. However, in its most widespread data-driven models, it risks reducing the human capacity to develop critical and creative skills.
In the use of AI systems, in fact, there is increasing evidence of phenomena that, if not properly addressed, can lead to an overall reduction in the skills of professionals. For instance, we speak of sycophancy bias, the ‘servility of machines’, to indicate the tendency of AI to confirm users' beliefs.
It is within this framework that the Randstad AI & Humanities Foundation was established to study and promote an effective and value-based contribution of the Humanities to the development, use and integration of AI in our lives and work.
