scientific officer - pesticides peer review unit

• Act as focal point with member state regulatory authorities and risk managers in the European Commission;
• Liaise with the EFSA Units to discuss/prepare scientific work;
• Contribute to data collection, data collation, analysis and evaluation of data aimed at preparing scientific material;
• Draft and review scientific outputs through the provision of evidence-based risk assessment;
• Manage a product process of Regulated Products (e.g. the entire Peer Review and/or MRL processes), monitor the correct implementation and ensure compliance with SOPs and procedures;
• Organise, coordinate and support both internal meetings and meetings with external participants, prepare relevant materials;
• Contribute to communicate and present scientific outputs by conveying the right messages and by making scientific concepts understandable to the public;
• Review output templates to ensure fitness for purpose;
• Act as a liaison between the Unit and stakeholders by providing and requesting information as needed.

• Excellent knowledge of English (at least B2 or above);
• At least one year of relevant working experience in pesticides residues consumer risk assessment;
• A scientific background in regulatory science;
• Previous experience in EFSA or another European agency/institution would be considered an asset;
• Behavioural competencies: ability to communicate effectively, ability to work in a team as well flexibility, ability to set priorities and to ensure deadlines are met;
• Proficiency in IT tools, standard office software and electronic management of documents and data.
